Overview Why more books for the Sprague Library? What "REMEMBER ME!" BOOKS are available for donation? What happens after we donate our “REMEMBER ME!” BOOK?
OVERVIEW Honor your child by donating a new book to the Sprague School Ellen Cunniff Library. A Remember Me! book celebrates your child's birthday or recognizes an achievement, an occasion, or a holiday. You can also give a book in your child's name to honor a teacher, thank a friend, or celebrate someone special. Your child's Remember Me! book will become a permanent part of the collection and a source of enjoyment and learning for others for years to come. Why more books for the Sprague Library? The Sprague Library is entirely self-funded. The Library needs donations to fill gaps in its collection, especially new titles published each year. Sprague's collection is new and is the smallest in Wellesley. Wellesley Public School libraries currently have no budget to purchase new books and have similar gift book programs. The program is an opportunity for families to directly order for our Library. What "REMEMBER ME!" BOOKS are available for donation? Books are selected by Sprague Librarian Ellen Mandel for the following reasons: - New or classic books that have been favorably reviewed
- Books that support students' recreational interests and needs
- Books that support the curriculum
- Books popular with students
What happens after we donate our "REMEMBER ME!" BOOK? - A Remember Me! book plate with your personalized dedication is permanently affixed to the inside front cover of your child’s book.
- The Sprague Librarian honors your child during his/her regular library time and shares your child’s book with the class.
- Your child is the first to borrow his/her book. A photograph of your child is displayed on the Remember Me! bulletin board in front of the Library.
- Your gift is noted in the next HEARTBeat Newsletter.
Anyone in Wellesley, the U.S. and the World can order books directly for our Library. Tell your friends and family about this great opportunity. Thank you! For more information, please contact Kathy Ashraf (ashraffamily@comcast.net) or Julie Barker (juliegbarker@hotmail.com) |
